Thrilled Customers Approve Mitsubishi e:MOTION Driving Experience at Mitsubishi e:MOTION VERSE - Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s First Ever Night Test Drive

BANGKOK – July 31, 2024:  Mitsubishi Motors Thailand recently organized Mitsubishi e:MOTION VERSE , inviting customers to experience superior driving with Mitsubishi e:MOTION, derived from ELECTRIFIED MOTION. Combining electric power to deliver complete and thrilling driving performance with full of power and confidence on all roads, customers experienced the excitement with the Mitsubishi XPANDER HEV and Mitsubishi XPANDER CROSS HEV, Mitsubishi Motors’ first vehicles with full-hybrid drive system.

 

Held at the Nhong Kor Airfield in Chonburi, Mitsubishi e:MOTION VERSE was also the first ever nighttime driving experience by Mitsubishi Motors Thailand, on a track that simulated various challenging terrains. This allowed customers to experience the complete driving performance of Mitsubishi e:MOTION, showcasing the vehicles’ excellence in handling all types of roads and real-life driving scenarios.

Mitsubishi e: MOTION is the integration of Mitsubishi Motors' unique technologies, including the Full HEV System, which offers excellent acceleration while maintaining fuel-efficiency. The system works in conjunction with a high-powered electric motor derived and developed from the success of Plug-in Hybrid system. Additionally, it features seven newly developed drive modes (7 Drive Modes), allowing drivers to easily switch between driving styles with a simple touch. This enables driving on all road conditions and all types of journeys, creating an unrestricted travel experience with safety and confidence on all roads, Mitsubishi e: MOTION also includes Active Yaw Control (AYC), a unique technology from Mitsubishi Motors. This system controls the operation of the inner and outer wheels while cornering, ensuring they work in harmony to maintain the vehicle's balance. This enhances driving stability, providing confidence in every curve. The Mitsubishi XPANDER HEV and Mitsubishi XPANDER CROSS HEV also stand out with a spacious and comfortable cabin, surpassing competitors in its class.

 

The Mitsubishi e:MOTION VERSE test track was meticulously designed with five stations to showcase the outstanding features and performance of the Mitsubishi e:MOTION driving experience. At the first station, customers experienced driving with electric power using the 'Charge Mode' and 'EV Priority Mode', demonstrating the vehicle's ability to quickly recharge the battery even the car is stationary and showcasing the silent operation of the 100 percent electric power, its agility in avoiding obstacles, and the excellent sound insulation in the cabin.

 

The second station simulated the operation of 'Tarmac Mode'. Drivers accelerated from 0-100 km/h within a specified distance, allowing them to feel the powerful torque as fast as Sport mode while maintaining smooth driving performance. The third station saw drivers switching to 'Wet Mode' for slippery and wet roads. This mode is specifically developed to suit the Thai climate. Here, drivers also tested the Active Yaw Control (AYC) system, a unique feature of Mitsubishi Motors that enhances safety and confidence, especially during cornering without understeering.

 

The fourth station involved testing 'Gravel Mode' on unpaved roads, demonstrating the vehicle's ability to maintain stability with confidence and control on slippery surfaces such as gravel and dust. At the final station, drivers tested 'Mud Mode', which adjusts the vehicle's response and control for powerful performance to conquer muddy, rugged roads. Coupled with a ground clearance of 205 mm, drivers could navigate obstacles without concern.

 

These five performance tests reinforced the superior capabilities of the Mitsubishi XPANDER HEV and Mitsubishi XPANDER CROSS HEV, surpassing two-wheel drive vehicles in the same category.

 

In addition to experiencing the new driving sensation with Mitsubishi e:MOTION, customers also enjoyed playing games and participating in special activities. They also had the chance to mingle with celebrities who joined the event to entertain and engage with the attendees, including riding along in test drives with lucky customers.

 

One of the participants, 43-year-old Mr. Peerapat Tharawiwat, who owns a Mitsubishi XPANDER CROSS said, "This test drive event was unique and exciting. It allowed me to try the advanced full-hybrid drive system with seven driving modes. I was impressed with the Wet and Gravel modes, as well as the Active Yaw Control or AYC system, which ensured the car remained stable and secure while cornering. I have been using the XPANDER CROSS for four years now and I am impressed with its performance, durability, safety, and suspension. The service centers are also excellent with new technologies. Most of the staff take great care of customers too."

 

Another customer who participated in the event, 31-year-old Ms. Laknara Lekkrajang who owns a Mitsubishi Attrage, said, “The night test drive was very exciting. I was impressed with the quietness of the cabin, the smooth driving experience, and the excellent acceleration. Since I am from Uttaradit province in the northern region, where mountain roads become very slippery during the rainy season, I really appreciate the Wet driving mode along with the AYC system, which made the car grip the road very well while cornering. I felt safe, and it met my practical needs.”
